Disassembly and reassembly of spray insulation on a turbine

At a power station, the Karlsruhe branch of G+H Isolierung dismantled the insulation system of an MD+HD turbine (medium and high pressure) and removed the old spray insulation. Following the on-site inspection of the turbine, the team applied new spray insulation with a new hard jacket. The mineral wool-cement mixture used for the spray insulation was applied directly to the turbine housing in the required insulation thickness. The additionally applied hard jacket prevents oil and water from penetrating the insulation and reduces the risk of fire. It also protects against mechanical damage and is tread-resistant.

The functionality and efficiency of the turbine have now been significantly improved. The successful completion of the project ensures smooth operation and contributes to the safety and sustainability of the power plant. The customer also placed another order with the Karlsruhe branch: the removal of the mattress insulation on another turbine.
