02 September 2025Successful removal of hazardous substances from truck tyre presses completed
The Saarbrücken/Trier branch of G+H Isolierung has successfully completed a challenging remediation project: hazardous materials were professionally removed and replaced from over 30 truck tyre presses.
The work focused on the dismantling and disposal of insulation materials containing asbestos and mineral fibres in accordance with technical regulations TRGS 519 and 521. The remediation was carried out in a specially equipped black area under negative pressure – a procedure that guarantees the highest safety standards.
The presses were transported in groups to the refurbishment area, where they were cleaned and, once the hazardous materials had been successfully removed, cleared for use. At the same time, new insulation and sheet metal cladding were delivered and installed. Custom-made components were used, including Zeppelin heads with a diameter of 1,620 mm and various panels and inserts.
A key objective of the project was to make optimum use of the downtime of the plants.
Thanks to precise planning and the dedicated cooperation of all those involved, the work was completed on schedule and the presses were put back into operation on time.
We would like to thank all project partners for their excellent cooperation and great commitment in implementing this complex project.
